CADENCE

Cadence returns to my equestrian background and the measured rhythm of dressage. The oversized braids along the mane bring a detail from dressage into the design.

At the time I made Cadence, I had also found a steady rhythm in my studio practice. The title seemed to describe both the horse and my own experience of making.

The amber casting, which I called Fire Horse, arrived with a bit of serendipity. It was completed in time for Cowgirl Up! at the Sigler Western Museum just as the Year of the Fire Horse began.
