BIJOU & CHLOE

My whippets have always occupied a different place in my life than horses. Horses have been an endless source of inspiration, exploration and joy in my work. My whippets are closer to home. They are the emotional center of my daily life, and Bijou, especially, has been my ever-present angel.

I don't sculpt them often, but I am endlessly drawn to their form. Whippets are creatures of contrasts: elegant and athletic, delicate and powerful, intensely alert and completely at ease.

Bijou + Chloe is a portrait of Bijou and her mother, Chloe. Bijou sits upright with one paw raised, completely focused with eyes that seem to look into my soul, while Chloe settles low to the ground, soft and at ease.
