MAGNETIC

Magnetic grew from an earlier glass version of Mutual, in which the two horses met in a grooming embrace. I began pulling them apart until they were nearly touching, shifting the focus from physical contact to the invisible attraction between them.

This piece also marked an evolution in the way I joined glass and steel. Rather than attaching the two materials, I designed the steel to cradle the glass. The overlap created a more fluid transition between them and became the structural language I have continued to use in my glass work.
