ON BRAVE WINGS SHE SOARS

On Brave Wings She Soars emerged during a time when I had begun to find momentum and joy again. I was riding after some years away from horses, my work had taken off, and for the first time in a while, every aspect of being an artist didn't feel so heavy.

It takes courage to spread your wings and fly, and something more to allow yourself to soar and feel joy.

Around that time, I dreamed I was flying with a herd of more than a hundred winged horses. Or perhaps I was one of them. I remember the sensation of moving together through the air, carried by something larger than myself.

She Soars came from that feeling. Not simply escape or freedom, but the courage to trust the momentum once it arrives.
