SOLA

Sola was inspired by time spent with wild horses. I wanted the bust to be suspended by the tangled, twisted mane, as though the horse were emerging from and held by this wild mass.

At the time, I was feeling quite alone in my own journey. Sola came to embody something I recognized in myself: a rugged yet capable being, solitary but not fragile. There is a self-reliance in her, a sense that she has everything she needs within herself.
