BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER
Beautiful Together began with a moment I glimpsed while driving down a dirt road in Montana. A herd of horses stood along the top of a cliff, and the light pouring through the negative spaces between their legs reminded me of a stained glass window.
I drove home and immediately sketched the idea in clay. I wanted the horses to remain part of the landscape, so I flattened their forms almost into bas-relief, allowing the herd, the spaces between them and the land beneath them to become one composition.
Years later, Beautiful Together became the starting point for the much larger Eons.
